Police are looking for an assailant who shot a 23-year-old woman near Rush University Medical Center early Monday on the Near West Side.
The victim, 23, was parked outside in the 600 block of South Paulina Street about 5:25 a.m. when a dark-colored car pulled up and someone inside opened fire, hitting her multiple times, police said.
The victim, who was in the driver’s seat of a black Jeep SUV, was transported to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The shooter fled the scene and was not arrested.
Area 3 detectives are investigating.
