The Trump administration <a href=\"https:\/\/ustr.gov\/issue-areas\/reciprocal-tariff-calculations\">calculated<\/a> the so-called reciprocal tariff rate based on the U.S. trade deficit with each country.<\/p>\n<p>Countries that have tried to get close to Trump generally received no special treatment. Right-wing Argentine President Javier Milei has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clarin.com\/opinion\/argentina-politica-exterior_0_1l5e6hsBV2.html?srsltid=AfmBOorzxv2w3rdzFR2MxMIong_NHG1q3XYPGWLz7N0yCCGqM-lkAAl_\">tilted<\/a> his foreign policy toward the United States, even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/americas\/argentina-pursues-trade-deal-washington-trump-tariffs-loom-2025-04-01\/\">proposing<\/a> a bilateral trade deal to Trump advisors.
