JB Pritzker was treated by a Springfield doctor late Wednesday with a \u201cminor complication\u201d from his urology procedure, the governor\u2019s office said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGov. Pritzker had a minor complication from his urology procedure late Wednesday night and was treated by a doctor at a Springfield hospital,\u201d spokesman Matt Hill said. \u201cHe had a full day of work on Thursday meeting with legislators, Illinoisans and staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s office said Pritzker is \u201cdoing great\u201d and had a full schedule planned for Friday \u2014 although there were no public events on his schedule. The office said the governor visited a doctor, but did not stay overnight at the Springfield hospital. Legislators are in session this week \u2014 with adjournment scheduled for May 31. The governor typically stays at the Governor\u2019s Mansion in Springfield on key session days. <\/p>\n<p>Pritzker, 61, on May 1 underwent a \u201croutine outpatient urology procedure\u201d and stepped back from public duties for a week. The Democratic governor returned to public duties on Monday and attended<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/elections\/2026\/05\/13\/gov-jb-pritzker-mayor-brandon-johnson-chicago-pitch-host-democratic-national-convention-2028\" data-cms-ai=\"0\"> a press conference<\/a> alongside Mayor Brandon Johnson and Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, as well as Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin. <\/p>\n<p>Pritzker was asked Monday if he was disclosing any ongoing concerns or treatments related to his medical procedure. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNope. You guys got plenty of information,\u201d Pritzker said with a laugh. <\/p>\n<p>The governor has rarely disclosed health issues since taking office in January 2019. In 2022, he continued his duties but worked from home after a COVID-19 diagnosis.
