{"id":4382,"date":"2026-03-30T17:23:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T17:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/firearmupgrades.com\/?p=4382"},"modified":"2026-03-30T17:23:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T17:23:13","slug":"unruly-passenger-apparently-caused-chicago-bound-american-airlines-flight-to-divert-to-detroit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firearmupgrades.com\/?p=4382","title":{"rendered":"Unruly passenger apparently caused Chicago-bound American Airlines flight to divert to Detroit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Police and federal officials are investigating a \u201cdisturbance\u201d aboard an American Airlines flight to Chicago Sunday that some passengers believe may have been a bomb threat which caused the flight to be diverted to Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>The Wayne County Airport Authority Police and FBI responded to a \u201creported disturbance\u201d on an American Airlines flight at Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus, Michigan, authorities said. <\/p>\n<p>The FBI confirmed personnel from their Detroit field office were present at the airport \u201cconducting law enforcement activities\u201d and noted there was no threat to the public but didn\u2019t specify further. <\/p>\n<p>American Airlines flight 2819 left John F. Kennedy Airport in New York just before 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time and diverted to Detroit roughly two hours later, according to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/flight\/AAL2819\/history\/20260329\/1310Z\/KJFK\/KDTW\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">FlightAware<\/a>. Several hours later, the same flight left Detroit Metropolitan Airport and touched down at O\u2019Hare International Airport just before 7 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>American Airlines has not yet responded to multiple requests for comment. <\/p>\n<p>Passengers who spoke to <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/chicago\/news\/travelers-rattled-flight-ohare-diverted-unruly-passenger\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">CBS Chicago<\/a> described the tense moments that took place over 30,000 feet in the air. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomething to the effect of, \u2018If you don\u2019t land this plane, I\u2019m going to, I\u2019ll blow it the plane,\u2019 or, \u2018If you don\u2019t land this plane, I\u2019m going to do something to it, and you will see,\u2019\u201d according to one passenger. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd about an hour out of Chicago, we hear this person in the back screaming, yelling, and: \u2018No! No!
