Kim and North Korean officials have repeatedly cited Iraq and Libya as states that the U.S. has disarmed before backing leadership change.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/china\/trump-wants-meet-north-koreas-kim-this-year-he-tells-south-korea-2025-08-25\/\" target=\"_blank\"> <u>told<\/u><\/a> visiting South Korean President Lee Jae Myung last month that he would like to meet with Kim Jong Un this year.
