Dressed as Buddy the Elf, Westin Chicago Northwest <\/a>employee Jerry Trujillo boldly stepped over the edge of the Itasca hotel, rappelling 168 feet while waving to co-workers.<\/p>\n \u201cI was standing fine on the edge, and it\u2019s OK because you\u2019re strapped in,\u201d recalled Trujillo, who works at the hotel as a banquet captain. \u201cBut as soon as you have to lean backward, my legs started shaking like chicken legs.\u201d<\/p>\n On Wednesday, Trujillo was among the first to experience the new \u201cAltitude Zone\u201d at the Westin Chicago Northwest.<\/p>\n Launched in partnership with Meet Chicago Northwest<\/a> and Over The Edge,<\/a> Altitude Zone allows participants to rappel down the 12-story hotel with panoramic views of nearby lakes, neighborhoods and planes landing at O\u2019Hare International Airport.<\/p>\n Once on the ground, Trujillo said he would recommend the experience to others.<\/p>\n For more on this story, please visit DailyHerald.com<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
