Two people including a 22-year-old man died during a three-vehicle high-speed traffic crash on the West Side early Sunday. <\/p>\n
Laquell Collins, 22, was behind the wheel of a dark-colored car traveling south on Central Avenue at a high rate of speed when it crashed into another car at Augusta Avenue about 2:10 a.m. <\/p>\n
A 36-year-old man behind the wheel of the other car, also dark-colored, was eastbound on Augusta when he disregarded a right light and collided with Collins\u2019 southbound car, police said. <\/p>\n
A third vehicle, a beige minivan, was being driven by a 45-year-old man when one of the two cars hit the minivan\u2019s front end, causing damage, police said. <\/p>\n
The two dark-colored cars finally came to rest in the yards of two separate residences, police said. <\/p>\n
The 36-year-old motorist, suffering from \u201csevere trauma,\u201d was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. <\/p>\n
A 35 year old woman who was a passenger in the 36-year-old\u2019s vehicle was treated by the CFD and transported to Stroger hospital in critical condition, police said. <\/p>\n
The minivan driver was not injured and declined medical services. <\/p>\n
Major Accident Detectives are investigating the circumstances involving the incident, which police officers in the area on their way to a call, witnessed. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
