A woman was arrested after allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian in South Loop Sunday morning, according to Chicago police.
A 35-year-old woman was driving a Mazda SUV in the 800 block of West Roosevelt Road at 6:40 a.m. when she hit Rosa M. Hernandez, 69, was walking in the street, police said. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The driver was arrested and charges are pending.
